Operation Renata

During the night and the morning of Tuesday 19 February 2019, seven anarchists were arrested in various places in Trentino. One person was immediately charged with house arrest, while all the others were imprisoned in various prisons. The main accusations are “subversive association with the purpose of terrorism and subversion of the democratic order” (article 270bis of the penal code) and of “terrorist attack” (article 280 of the penal code), with reference to some direct actions that have taken place in Trentino over the past few years. Other crimes of which they are accused are: “interruption of public service”, “damage”, “sabotage of telematic devices”, “fire” and “transport of explosive material”. At the same time, 50 searches were carried out, with about 150 policemen and carabinieri mobilized in the repressive operation (which was given the name “operation Renata”, apparently a name taken from the nickname given to a car used by companions). The investigations were conducted by Digos (State Police) and ROS (Carabinieri). On the same day of the arrests, a press conference took place in Rome, organized by anti-terrorism. In March, following a review court decision that found the allegations of “terrorism” non-existent, the charge of “subversive association with the purpose of terrorism and subversion of the democratic order” fell (Article 270bis , cp) of which a part of the arrested comrades were initially accused, and the hypothesized crime has become that of “subversive association” (art. 270, cp). The charges relating to specific facts (“interruption of public service”, “damage”, “sabotage of telematic devices”, “fire” and “transport of explosive material”) are unchanged. On May 9, five anarchist prisoners were transferred under house arrest from February 19, 2019 following the “Renata” operation; one recently transferred to the AS2 prison section of L’Aquila, two prisoners in Tolmezzo and two others held in Ferrara. Comrade Luca Dolce (known as “Stecco”) remains in prison because of other final convictions. While another partner, also arrested on February 19 and immediately placed under house arrest, had this last “precautionary measure” converted into a home and return home from 9.00 pm to 7.00 am.Still in May Stecco was transferred from the prison of Tolmezzo to that of Ferrara. It is possible to send money to support fellow prisoners and defendants following the “Renata” operation by reloading the Postepay card n. 5333 1710 7066 8120 headed to Kamilla Bezerra. In Italy it is also possible to make top-ups only in cash directly from the tobacconist (cost 2 euro) providing your data, your tax code (you need the card, not the number from memory), the number of the postepay card and the tax code of the holder (BZRKLL80P60Z602C). For those who prefer to make a transfer, the data is as follows: IBAN: IT04H3608105138216260316268 in the name of Kamilla Bezerra. BIC / SWIFT code, to carry out international transactions: PPAYITR1XXX.
